I have been working in a project that has been on my mind for quite a while. I love timeeless stories. I love our legends, myths, epics... And what is more ours than Homer's Iliad. We have been told over and over again that the Iliad is a portrait of the human being, for good and bad. And my mind went into that and started to think in translating it to a more actual environment.
What if we swap the gods and goddesses for our most basic emotions? what if we move the people to the 21st century and change their jobs, their appearance, but keep their emotional core intact?
So I created a new portfolio. I did not use all the characters of the Homer's poem, some others have been added with a new background that explains their presence in it. I gave them the wrappings of all that characterise our time and age.
I will present them in pairs, opposites one could say. The choices of fabrics, postures reflect what I think and see about them. Achilles and Hector, Paris and Helen, Agammenon and Priam etc...
I hope you can see what I see in them.
